First time I’ve come across your site, think you are doing a great job…I wondered if any one out there had an opinion on a tooth that will NOT go numb. I qualified in 2000 and have done a fair few crowns but today my LA failed on a lower incisor. Tried infiltration then blocka nd PDL . Nothing. The patient isnt easy but has had lots of treatment before. Ended up just getting on with it through tears (patients and mine!) obviously the technical result cant be good in these circumstances. Has this ever happeded to anyone. Any advice?

Chris, I saw the post on your site about the SmileHigh foundation and I think it would be great if you could set aside space in the blog somewhere to link to similar organisations. I went with a different organisation on my elective, albeit to a similar part of the world and I think a resource like this would be great for elective hunting students or for those qualified dentists who fancy a bit of adventure.

Hi Guys! Greetings from Australia. I am also a young dental enthusiast (2007) trying to find my way in the world of dentistry. I came across this website while doing my random dental googling looking for better ceramic onlay temporisation techniques. Restorative dentistry is my main area of interest. The wear case should be a fun and challenging case to work. I look forward to seeing your progress. Great work with the website. You guys really know your stuff!!

Hi Jason why not try systemp as your onlay temporisation material. It’s a cracking material. Light cure squidgy resin material which is dead easy to get out just insert a flat plastic and turn. The other thing you can use is amalgam (as there are no undercuts you can just cut a cross into it and ping it out) I’ve only done this once and it was far more tricky than the systemp but it worked and if you had a long wait to fit would be better.
I’ll ask Mr Tipton for other materials at the event and feedback too!
