Smile High
There is a wonderful dental aid initiative that I wanted to tell you about briefly, called Smile High (www.smilehigh.net)
It was started by a young New Zealand dentist, Julian Haszard, who is now based in the UK, who climbed Mt Everest and noticed the poor oral health of Nepalese children. Anyway, the organisation organises expeditions to the region every year and are always looking for dentists to come along and volunteer. I was wondering if you knew anyone who might be interested to take part or become involved…ideally someone who enjoys a hike and is happy to perform dentistry in ‘limited conditions’ and make a huge difference to the lives of the children in the developing world.
